Fierce Find - PawParazzi (Grooming and Pet Supplies)

Last November '09 I blogged about a Fierce Find called Paw Parazzi - A shop catering to the needs of our four-legged friends. Their services ranges from health care, obedience training, pampering, styling and a whole lot more. You can also find fierce products here from food, toys and of course... blings for your pets to show off.

What I really find interesting and kinky is that; PawParazzi can also hook up your pets "in heat"! Their website offers a database of listing for you to chose from. A four-legged dating service as they call it. All you need to do is to place an ad(for free) and just wait for a possible mate for your pet. I think this is a fierce way of pimping your beloved pets. Very up-to-date and posh (compared to those accidental matings and what have you). I guess this would put an end to their habitual accidental lovers drama (LOL).

Another service which I think is very convenient is they offer pick up and drop offs. Now you don't have any alibis to neglect your pets . Busy or not, you can just dial their numbers (Landline - 410-5098 / Mobile - +63916 698 3275) and what you have is an endless pampering only a true four-legged diva deserves.

Give them a call and try their service. Just tell tell them fierce blogs whispered this great opportunity to you.

May the fierce be with you!

Fierce Blogs Found Empadana Avenue – Homemade Empanada of Bulacan

On my way home last week, the service driver asked me if it was okay to drop by a store before bringing me home. Since it was early and I was in a cooperative mood, I nodded and gave him a quick smile.

Apparently he was hungry and wanted to get a quick fix for breakfast. He stopped by in front of this humble store selling empanada. The store is not that posh-looking and all but there’s something to it that made me check the scene. Well, I didn’t just check it really; I bought a box full of empanada for breakfast too!

Facade of Empanadad Avenue

I ordered 3 pieces of tuna and 3 pieces of chicken. Their empanada costs Php12.00 each ($0.20 each).

How was the experience? I love it and it’s another fierce find I can share to you guys. A single empanada will already satisfy your hunger because it’s not all-crust. Once you bite it, you will notice that your empanada is not about "a crust filled with air" (like others). You are really eating what you bought. No drama and hullabaloos - just a simple and delicious empanada for you to enjoy. And what I love above all, their empanada is not oily like most.

Mang Ed Ordering

Other flavors are ham and cheese, bacon and cheese and pork.

Empanada Box (6 pieces)

You can visit them at P. Binay Street (corner Dela Rosa Street) at the back of SM Hypermart South Super Highway extension. Or you can call them at 889-5769 for special orders. Unfortunately they do not deliver for the lazy people out there.

L’OREAL Revitalift White – Reviewed by Fierce Blogs

Today, I am officially claiming that I am a lab rat all in the name of blogging!

3 weeks ago I visited Watson’s at Greenbelt 1, Ayala Center to buy some toiletries. As usual, I surveyed the store for some new products that are worth testing - a habit I had ever since. Walking from hair care, tooth products, body lotion and of course not to be missed - skin care!

One product from the L’Oreal display really caught my attention. The white box label says, “Pro-Retinol A & Fibre Elastyl. As I try to get the product from the display, something underneath prevents me from grabbing it. In my mind I thought it was just a display and still not out for sale.

The saleslady noticed my confusion and offered her help.

“Ano po ‘yon , Sir? (Yes, Sir?)

“Hi! Are you selling this already?” I inquired.

“Yes, Sir” The lady replied with glee

“Ayaw kaseng matangal.” (It's affixed) I continued.

With a lot of force, the lady removed the white box from the display. Surprisingly, the product was heavily taped from the stand preventing anyone to check it out.

Obviously amazed with what I saw, I asked the purpose of the tape.

“Sir, kase ang mga customers dampot ng dampot di naman bumibili eh” (Sir, a lot of customers only check the product and don’t buy after all).

Good luck to that!” I told myself.

I eventually bought the product not because of the saleslady’s sentiments - rather, I am intrigued by the products claim: “After 4 weeks, wrinkles are less visible and brown spots are visibly reduced”. And more than anything, I am a fan of Retinol A.

The product is called L’OREAL Revitalift White – Spot and Wrinkle Corrector.

On my first week of applying the product twice a day (morning and before going to sleep), I did not really experience a significant change. This is contrary to what the product claims – “After 8 days, fine lines look softer and are smoothed out”. It was only after 2 weeks did my skin experience changes. It felt supple and healthier.

The product seems to be working, I thought.

What made me decide to blog this product is after seeing the results after 3 weeks. Sure enough some of the fine lines are less pronounced and were smoothed out and some of the brown spots on my right upper cheek lightened.

The photos below will show my experience of using the product for only 3 weeks.

Another Fierce product revealed!

Notes:

1. This is not a paid advertisement.

2. The product costs around Php750 to Php800 (around $17.00), 30ml.

3. This is merely the blogger’s experience and result may vary.

Blessing Rings – A Nice Gift for Special People

Sometimes we would like to give keepsake to people who matters to us – family, friends or may be that special someone. However most of the time we run out of ideas what to give. I think this is because we want to give something unique and at the same time personal.

Here’s another fierce item I would like to share to my readers – Blessing Rings.
Early this week my friends and I went to Rustan’s Makati to window shop (which normally ends with a purchase of course!). A habit that is really difficult to break! It was the same “shopping-time” my friend said she wanted to give us something. Hmm… I wonder what.

We went to the counter where some coin-looking items were displayed. They are called Blessing Rings - a pendant made of recycled lead for pocket, key chain and can be used as necklace too. You can choose from a variety of blessing rings depending on whom you’ll give it and the purpose. Some of the blessing rings I can remember are: Daughter, Safe Driving, Gratitude, Joy, Friendship, New Beginnings, Hope, Luck, Healing, Peace, Wisdom, Angel, Courage and of course Love.

Louise gave me “The Luck” ring - and I am surely feeling a LOT of luck these days. Thanks Oui!

You can buy the Blessing Rings at Rustan’s Makati for only Php195 (around $4.00).

For a complete list of rings you can click here.

Beabi Shop - Fierce Containers For Traveling

Another Fierce Find revealed today!

I want to share an interesting store I spotted last week at the ground floor of Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City (their only branch). It’s called BEABI. The name of the store appeared to me as an odd name for what they are selling – Plastic Invasion!

Along with close friends we went inside and checked what they have to offer. BEABI caters to the consumers demand to have a neatly manufactured containers for traveling use. They have containers for lotion, cologne, soap, cream, moisturizer, dental retainers (or dentures), contact lens and contact solution. Generally, they have the right container based on what you are looking for. Another must have product you can buy from BEABI are their travel compartment bags. They come in various colors, sizes and of course zipped pouches designed to suit your needs.

I left the stores with 2 items – small white spatula (Php10.00 or $0.20) and a 50ml Snap Bottle (php35.00 or $0.70). Very cheap I know; but it’s supposed to be that way. This leads me to wonder… Will BEABI survive operating in the middle of Greenbelt 5? We’ll see.

snap bottle to transfer your lotion when traveling

So, the next time you need any container for your cosmetic products or probably a compartment bag or pouch, visit BEABI.

My Hair Magician - Jhun Bilalo of Razzle Dazzle Salon

Since last week I was trying to squeeze in the busy schedule of my hairstylist. I was told his next available schedule is Friday. NO WAY!!! My hair looks like a wild Bermuda grass already. Never say die, I said! I tried my luck yesterday and called Razzle Dazzle to get an appointment. Viola! I got the 5:30pm slot.

The name of my hairdresser is Jhun Bilalo – who belongs to the Senior Artistic Team of Razzle Dazzle.

While Jhun was cutting my hair, I asked him out of nowhere.

“How long have you been cutting my hair?”

He didn't reply immediately and instead cracked his head; trying to know the answer.

The blogger having his haircut

I made a guess-timate and exclaimed 5 years with a lot of uncertainty.

Apparently, Jhun has been cutting my hair for the last 11 years. Yes, that long! I really could not believe that it has been more than a decade. Well, more than anything I could not believe the years just passed by that quickly. I remember having my first hair cut with him not knowing if he is good or not. Back then, Jhun was still connected with a previous salon – let’s not mention the name for reasons I don’t want to disclose.

Over the years I have been loyal to his service. It only goes to prove that the loyalty of the customer is not with the salon – it’s with the stylist. In fact, I am that satisfied with his skills that I referred him to my friends (Male and Female). When friends would ask me who my hair stylist is, I would automatically refer them to Jhun and give them his business card. I am that confident that my stylist can really deliver. I am really not surprised that the same people I referred are already an avid customer.

My stylist would appear shy at first when you meet him – but he is really not. You can talk to him about anything. He is more than a stylist; he can be a friend too on most occasions. But of course his strong suit is bringing out the beauty in you. Experimenting with your hair is something you should always entrust to him – which is the reason why I have been loyal to him all these years. I embrace changes and I get bored with the same look. I always try a new haircut every now and then. Change is always good as they say.

My friend, Marquee, who is also a loyal customer of Jhun

I can’t imagine entrusting my hair to someone else. That’s why I would ask my friends this line,

“Only Jhun cuts my hair, who does yours?”

If you want to experience the service of our hairstylist, you can call Razzle Dazzle Salon at 848-2388 or 840-2880. And if you happen to book an appointment with Jhun, just tell him I referred you.

Note:

  • This is not a paid advertisement. I am only sharing a fierce hair stylist to my readers.
  • Razzle Dazzle Hair Beauty Salon is located at Frabella Condominium, G/FL. 109 RadaStreet, Legaspi Village 1200

Vince Camua - Looks and Sings Better “LIVE”.

Last Saturday I was invited by a close friend to watch a mini concert at The Podium. When I asked her who’s performing, I had to ask again because the name of the artist did not really strike a chord. Curiosity struck me (as always) and had to research his name online – but this effort din not lead me anywhere. Except for some Multiply and Facebook accounts, Google results did not provide much of a backgrounder who the artist is.

His name is Vince Camua.

We arrived at the venue 5:45pm and settled for a seat at the middle section. I realized that the budding artist has a CD out in the market; Vince Camua, Spells of a Young Crooner. I would probably check it after his performance tonight.

Time check, 6:15pm and still no signs that the show will start any sooner. If I remember it right, the email invite that was sent to me clearly stated that the show start at 6pm. Very Pinoy, I told myself.

At 6:35pm, out came a young guy in denims and white jacket; and hurriedly headed towards center stage. Hadn’t my friend told me he is Vince, not in any light years will I figure out that the guy and posters are all but one. His posters suggested he is a 30-something-guy with a very big hair; while on live he is a true looker- not to mention a lot younger. Either this is a case of bad photography, photo styling or probably even choice. I don’t really know – just go figure!

After the first 3 songs, I was absolutely convinced that Vince can, indeed, croon. He is musically precocious and can render cover songs and eventually own it. His set of vocal devices is suit for his type of genre – a great deal of modern swing era. What I also find appealing is his distinctive sound that is not a product of Martin Nievera or Garry Valenciano’s school of music. To a lot, Vince may sound a lot like Richard Poon – given that their genre is the same. But Vince should be given more credit than this - He sings a lot better than Richard Poon. The only advantage the latter has is being able to penetrate mainstream.

Although this young balladeer has a lot of learning while performing on stage (he still has awkward moments and does not connect to his entire audience), he truly deserves a niche in musicville. With the proper marketing, packaging and proper song selection, this young artisan can reach musical heights in local recording scene. Let’s face it, young singers nowadays all belong to the “I-will-belt-until-my-freaking-lungs-explode" bandwagon. It gets tiring after a while. Thus, it is about time we see a new ingredient in the music arena.

After the show, I got his CD and can’t stop playing his version of “I’ll Take Care of You” – a personal favorite.

If you have a chance to see him, I guarantee that you will agree that Vince Camua looks and sings better “live”.

Brown Rice Moisture Shampoo – Let it Snow No More

Ever since I can recall, using anti-dandruff shampoo has been synonymous to wearing contact lens for me. From Guard ZO 7 plus to Head & Shoulders and even Clear - these shampoos made me relish life minus the unsightly existence of flakes (or at least managed, that is) on my scalp. But then again my abusive usage of hair products during my teen years didn’t help much either. Fact is I am a bonafide devotee of Aqua Net Extra Strong Hold during my high school years. At exactly 6:30am, I would gladly inhale all the chemicals to pave way to a more important raison d'ĂȘtre (reason) - a hair that could endure all typhoons. And, mind you, when freshly sprayed; this primeval hair product can also be an effective trap to flies hovering atop your head. The original 2 in 1 product!

But the spotlight does not belong to the defunct Aqua Net; instead let’s focus our attention to a gift I received 2 Christmases ago.

When I first saw it, it was like an item more appropriate to be racked at the kitchen shelves. Why? Because the shampoo I received is called, Brown Rice. Second look, it seemed to be a body lotion. At closer look, it is a shampoo after all (Duh!)

But let me tell you; this shampoo proves that it is not all about packaging and presentation (at this age and time). There are still products out there solely relying on what it has to offer inside. Since using the product, I let it snow no more. And to think using Brown Rice shampoo 2 years ago was more of, “what-the-heck-let’s-try-it” moment. I feel that the shampoo is also gentle on my scalp and prevents hair loss.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I am giving it a fierce score of 3.5. The demerits were not because of the product; but because of the grammatical errors wrapped around it. If you own a bottle, take a moment to read the label. Be warned however - a lot of what’s written totally doesn’t make sense. Only the product does.

Thanks Ivy and Monna for introducing the product to me. Indeed a fab find and a fierce one!

Other info:

- Price ranges from 400 to 500 Philippine Pesos.
- Bottle is 520ml/18.3 FL OZ (Pump Type)
- I buy at Rustan’s Makati
- Agency is HYSSOP PHIL. ENT
- Made in Korea

Switch to OPTI-FREE REPLENISH by ALCON

I have been a contact lens user for 18 long years already. Literally I can claim that almost half my life, I know the discomfort a contact lens user experiences just to avoid wearing glasses. From the protein and dust my eyes collected the entire day sometimes causing irritation to the uneasiness of having dry eyes because of extreme temperature in our surroundings.

But amidst these, I still prefer to wear contact lenses - I like complications, REALLY!

Probably you will agree that one of the worst thing that could happen to you is when you have your contacts on whilst you are on a holiday trip and you suddenly forget to bring your contact lens solution with you.

Yup! This happened to me 2 weeks ago. And who came to the rescue - My close friend who for some reason is not really a regular contact lens user but has a solution with him (ever reliable). I am not even sure if he brought his contacts because I never saw him on it.

Disclaimer - This is not a paid advertisement. I am purely sharing an excellent experience with the solution I borrowed and eventually asked my friend if I can have it. Yes, I am the diva of cheapo!

The solution is called OPTI-FREE REPLENISH by ALCON.

What makes it different from my previous solutions is the fact that I really feel fresh and replenished when I wear my contacts on. With my old product, I felt some bumps (not always 'though) whenever I wear my contacts and had to eventually remove and wash it again. Troublesome if you are rushing for work, really! But what really made the difference is the moisture I get all day long. Before I had to apply lubricants due to dryness, but with Opti-Free Replenish, it feels like your contacts were moisturized the night before.

I have only used the product for 2 weeks but I guarantee that I will make the big switch. I also have no idea what the ingredients are, all I care about is that the product makes my eyes feel good all day long.
