The New Rules of Matching Your Belt to Your Shoes

We all know that when it comes to dressing up, it's a universal rule to match the color of your belt to your shoes. You agree? Well, if you are referring to 5 - 7 years ago of men's style and fashion rule, this could be true. This was indeed that old rule of dressing up - "Match the leather colors of your shoes to the leather color of your belt". Simple, right?
But times and styles have changed. It is already acceptable to be playful. In fact, I think the new rule is, "Mix it up with a lot of caution. What am I talking about? You don't have to really pair the color of your shoes to your belt, however, stay close to it's family of colors. Example is brown belt to beige shoes. Both are in the natural color palate or earth tone. The trick is to stay close to the tone of the color using similar shade.
