Yabu - House of Katsu Experience @yabuPH

I visited the hottest Japanese resto in town last Friday. The place is called Yabu, The House of Katsu, and it's located at 2/F Megamall Atrium, SM Megamall. Actually, I've been hearing the buzz about Yabu all over Twitter and Facebook a couple of months back. Unfortunately, my busy schedule would not allow me to visit them any sooner. Luckily, my curiosity ended 2 days ago.

Upon first glance of Yabu restaurant, my attention was immediately captured by its chic yet playful aesthetic. What I really find interesting is how they filled the resto walls with nicely framed comic strips. You can help but read along the shorts story line on how to prepare Katsu.

Here are some photos of them:

Isn't it such an ambiance to behold?

After enjoying the interesting interior of Yabu, I quickly browsed through the menu and noticed this - How to Enjoy Your Katsu.

How to Enjoy Your Katsu
I had to immediately asked the waiter about this and he gladly thought us how to prepare our own sauce. And here's my way of doing it...

After being so entertained with grinding and pounding activity, we decided to get the following from their menu:

Hire (Pork Tenderloin) Set (Php 405.00)

Vegetarian Katsu Set (Php 290.00)
Chicken Katsu Curry (Php 320.00)
My personal favorite from the food we ordered is Chicken Katsu Curry. Really enjoyed the spice and herbs combined. Oh, and I am really fond of spicy food.

What I love about Yabu food:
  • Tastes fresh
  • Really crispy outside yet soft and chewy inside
  • Not oily
  • Friendly attendants
  • Ambiance is playful yet still homey
  • Pork also tastes fresh
  • They offer unlimited rice and vegetable
  • Price list is not heavy on your budget

You really have to try Yabu and experience their food and service. Yabu branches are at the following:
  • 2/F Megamall Atrium, SM Megamall
  • LGF Robinsons Magnolia Town Center, Hemady St., cor. Aurora Blvd., New Manila, Quezon City
Thanks to Yabu - House of Katsu for a wonderful food experience! By the way, great seeing you again Denise!
