Gary V: On Higher Ground Concert Review

April 13, Friday, Greenhills - The audience at Music Museum were treated to sumptuous musical extravagance topped with visual elicits. It was a night to remember! Not even the heavy traffic of Friday the 13th or the major power failure in Greenhills can hinder Gary V from moving his audience to higher grounds!

Gary V: On Higher Ground Concert Review
After 29 years of well-celebrated music and highly-acclaimed concert performances, Gary Valenciano is not showing any signs of slowing it down. He is still the unbeatable force in the male department of Philippine music. To date, I have not seen any artists so complete and as humble as the 47-year old musical hero. By far, Gary V's "On Higher Ground" series is the best concert I've seen in our country. It was a marriage of first-class music and visual spectacle that made his concert memorable. Using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) Technology, the plain, layered white backdrop of the concert stage transforms from natural sceneries to colorful electronic feel. I was in awe in most segments of the show! One could only imagine the technical challenges of syncing music to imagery and to lights. Kudos to Paolo Valenciano for executing it with gusto and feel.

Gary V: On Higher Ground Concert Review
The highlights of the show (for me) is the spot where Gary V. sang "Over the Rainbow". It was so surreal seeing Mr. Pure Energy sang along with 4 more of himself using musical and visual technology. Another favorite moment is hearing the UNICEF Philippines ambassador croon the teleserye theme songs like: “Tayong Dalawa,” “Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo,” “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, “ and “Sana Maulit Muli”.

Fierce Blogs highly recommends the concert series of Gary V: On Higher Ground to everyone. “Gary V: On Higher Ground” is directed by Gary and son Paolo Valenciano with Musical Direction by Mon Faustino.
