Elements 2011 - National Singing Songwriting Camp

Lunch time of Wednesday this week, I attended a press conference of the 2nd Elements National Singing - Songwriting Camp. After successfully hosting the first Songwriters Camp last year, the organizers decided to include singers this year.

The five-day event is brought to you by 7101 Music Nation; which is the brainchild of Maestro Ryan Cayabyab (Artistic Director), Julio D. Sy. Jr. (Chief Executive Officer) and Twinky Lagdameo (Chief Operating Officer).

As explained by Mr. C himself, the goal of the workshop is to create a venue for Filipino artists & musicians (both established & budding) to share their ideas and talents for the betterment of our local music. This is the only time when Music has no boundaries. No genre. Only Music.

The event, which was held at Arts in the City Cafe, FVR Park, Taguig City, was well-attended by local singers and musicians. Present that noon were: Ryan Cayabyab, Junjee Marcelo, Jett Pangan, Jimmy Antiporda, Raiymund Marasigan, Jay Durias & Noel Cabahug.

Some of the graduates from the 1st Camp also attended and rendered their audition piece. QYork, JM Quiblat & Kate Toralba (famous fashion designer) took center stage with much confidence and talent.

Aspiring singers should be 18 - 25 of age while songwriters is from 18 - 35. Must be a citizen and resident of the Philippines.

What is truly great about this camp/workshop is, everything is free once you are fortunate to be picked to join the camp.
