I have not blogged for almost 2 weeks. This is probably the longest time I have not blogged or visited Fierce Blogs. Consider the rest of the days of 2010 as my hibernation period. I am human after all. A time to rest my putrid body and my weary mind. Juggling from one professional hat to the other can be tiring but at the same time fulfilling. 

To those who sent emails asking for new blog entries, just wait, okay! Fierce Blogs is not a daily newspaper you expect to be delivered right in front of your doorstep. Create your own blog site if you can't wait!

Right now, I just want to enjoy my Yan Yan! Which by the way changed so much since I was a toddler.

Regine Velasquez - New CD called Fantasy Out! (Press Conference)

Lunch time today, Fierce Blogs attended the Press Conference of Regine Velasquez' CD launch called, Fantasy. The launch happened in Thaipan Restaurant (120 Scout Lazcano Street, Quezon City); where friends from media anticipated the arrival of The Songbird. I spotted ABS-CBN, GMA-7, TV5,Global Cinema, Channel V during the said launch.

Regine along with her entourage arrived at around 12:00 noon wearing her usual smile and congenial glances.She made a quick pass where the the event is supposed to be staged. then disappeared from the longing crowd. Where did she go? May be a quick make up retouch...

Then after 15 minutes, the-soon-to-be-wed artist appeared on stage and greeted everyone.

The 40-year old singer, actress sang sample cuts from her latest CD (video to be posted on YouTube soon): Been Waiting, OK Lang Ako, What About Love, You Don't Know. I have not listened to the whole CD but I instantly fell in love with her cover on What About Love ( A Heart Original).

After giving the press some sample songs, Regine opened the floor to the usual Q&A. Fierce Blogs was able to capture the entire video of this and will also post them on YouTube (Fierce Blogs account).

But to give you some samples, here was the first question that was raised to the diva:

Press: "Yung mga mangyayari sa pasko, simulan natin 3 days before Christmas.

RV: "Bakla ka! Yun na nga yung kasal."

Press: "Ay yun na ba yun?!"

RV: "Ano ba?! Ano ba?!"

Press: "Di nga? Ano mangyayari?"

RV: "Ano mangyayari eh di kakasal na nga ako."

I really think this was a "duh" moment for that press member. Obviously he was totally unaware of the whole wedding date. Subsequently, this will of course make Regine laugh at the question.

Back to the new CD, Regine is offering a double CD composed of 22 songs. Disc 1 is where all the 12 original music are housed while disc 2 showcase 10 revival songs. You might be wondering why there are 2 packaging (they have the same content, by the way)? As Regine explained, it was never the plan to have 2 different CD covers. It was only the idea of Universal Records of which the Songbird is more than happy to see. It's her gift to her followers for collection.

Having witnessed the rise of Regine's fame from a literal nobody to probably one of our country's premier singer, I could say she is still the standard when it comes to her genre. With her upcoming wedding, we could only envision who can fill the big stage she ones ruled. This is of course in anticipation that she will eventually take the back seat when it comes to her career and instead focus on her new found music - family.

This CD is Regine's  second release under Universal Records of which the first one was her 2008 "Low Key".
